Mass Email

Legal

Privacy policy

Effective October 5, 2026. This policy covers the Mass Email Chrome extension (“Mass Email”, “we”) published by EthanApp, and this website.

In short: Mass Email has no server and no user accounts. Your contact lists, emails and settings stay in your browser. Google gives Mass Email permission to send email as you, not to read your mailbox. If you choose Claude as the AI, the text you ask it to write about is sent to Anthropic with your own API key.

1. What Mass Email handles, and why

DataWhat happens to it
Your Google sign-inChrome's identity service signs you in to Google and gives Mass Email an access token with two permissions: gmail.send (send email as you) and userinfo.email (your email address, shown in the extension and used as the sender). Mass Email cannot read, search, label or delete messages in your mailbox.
Emails you sendEach email you start is built on your computer and sent through the Gmail API, from your account, to the recipient. It appears in your Gmail “Sent” folder like any other email.
Contact lists and campaignsRows you upload (CSV), paste, import from a Google Sheet or collect from a web page, your drafts and your campaign history are stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer. They are never sent to us.
Google Sheets importWhen you paste a Sheet link, Mass Email downloads that sheet as CSV using your own Google session in Chrome, after Chrome asks you to allow access to docs.google.com. The file is read on your computer.
Addresses from a web pageOnly when you click “Collect addresses from the open page”, Mass Email reads that tab's text and mailto: links to find email addresses. Chrome asks for permission per site. Nothing else is read.
AI writingWith Chrome built-in AI, writing happens on your computer and nothing is sent anywhere. With Claude, your brief, the email you ask it to edit and, for personal lines, the recipient's row are sent to Anthropic's API using the API key you entered. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that request; we never receive it.
Settings and your Anthropic API keyStored in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer, and the key is sent only to api.anthropic.com.
The button on GmailMass Email adds a small button to mail.google.com that opens its panel. It does not read your emails or the page.

2. What we don't do

3. Google user data (Limited Use)

Mass Email's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Mass Email uses Google user data only to send the emails you ask it to send and to show which account is sending. It is not transferred to anyone, not used for advertising, and not read by humans.

4. Who receives data

5. Keeping and deleting data

6. Security

Data is stored in Chrome's extension storage, which is protected by your computer's user account, and every request to Google and Anthropic uses HTTPS. Anyone with access to your Chrome profile can see what Mass Email stores, including your Anthropic API key, so keep your computer and Chrome profile secure.

7. Your recipients' data

You decide whom to email and what data to import, so you are responsible for having a lawful reason to contact them and for honoring unsubscribe requests (see the terms of service). Mass Email helps with an unsubscribe line, an unsubscribe header and a list of addresses every campaign skips.

8. This website

This website is a static site with no cookies, analytics or forms. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

9. Children

Mass Email is a tool for adults and is not directed at children under 16.

10. Changes and contact

We will update this page and its effective date if Mass Email starts handling data differently. Questions or requests: ethanhdt@gmail.com.
